Composite Carbide Type 1 Series Nozzle Tip Replaces C1

Posted on March 2, 2021 by Eric R. W.

After many folks expressed how much they liked our long lasting super composite nozzle for the smaller type 2 series, we have decided to launch a similar for the Type 1 size.

These are the larger version nozzle used for larger systems. It also replaces the ceramic nozzle tip on our large C1 nozzle assembly/holder.

Composite Carbide > Ceramic

Most brands of these large Type 1 series nozzles manufacture them in ceramic. If you blast with this a lot using very hard abrasive, it is best to upgrade to a carbide version. It is estimated to last hundreds of times longer than ceramic.

However, if you blast with softer abrasive or only blast occasionally, the ceramic is usually just fine.

Replaces Type 1, AKA C1

The type 1 nozzle tip is a large nozzle measuring 3.75″ long. It has a outside diameter (OD) of 1-1/8″ , tapered to 5/8″ O.D.  This is the standard C1 size as well.

High Cost, But Lower Long-term Cost

Many folks want to upgrade to this longer lasting nozzle to reduce cost in the long run. Plus, it reduces the frequency of stopping in the middle of a blasting project to replace a worn ceramic version.

The Type 1 with the special durable carbide is quite expensive to manufacture. However, it is well worth it in the long run.

At the moment, we only manufacture these with an inner diameter (ID) of 1/8″. In the future we may offer a 3/16″ and 1/4″ size.

Please leave a comment below if you would prefer one of those size instead.

@Bruno, not at the moment but will consider this size. However, we do supply the Type 1 with a 3/32″ with the ceramic material.
